Day 13…

Filter Your Input…

Yesterday we talked about NOT checking email/etc when you first get up in the morning.

We’re continuing that theme today with one of the biggest productivity boosters we’ve come up with in my own business.

It’s filtering the communication that comes into your business (which, in turn, comes into your personal life).

Later on in the challenge we’re going to get into some tools and methods to separate yourself from all the clients that want/need you right this very second.

For now though, all I want you to do is start keeping track of how people contact you and when and what they ask for.

For example, if you have staff, note who is contacting you, how often, when, and for what?  For your clients, ask the same things: who is contacting you, how are they doing it (email, text, phone, etc), when (during business hours or after, weekdays or weekends), and why.

Clients wanting us – and our desire to please them – results in making it extremely difficult for us in the 24/7 pet business to have a life and create separation between work and personal lives.

We’re going to work on the separation later but for now, again, just start noting how communication from staff and clients come into your business.

I bet you’d like to reduce the stress from the constant bombardment of communication, right?  Well this is going to help!
